Traditional Stucco

Classic three-coat cement stucco: lath, scratch, brown, and a hand-troweled finish.

Nothing delivers curb appeal and durability like a well-applied stucco finish. Traditional cement stucco is built in layers, lath, a scratch coat, a brown coat, and the finish coat, applied by hand on homes and businesses across Orange County and Los Angeles.

Built in three coats

Paper and wire lath give the wall something to hold. The scratch coat is scored so the next layer grips, the brown coat levels the wall flat and true, and the finish coat sets the look. Every layer is applied by hand, with an eye for detail, so the walls come out smooth and even.

Your texture, your color

Choose from smooth, lace, sand, or dash textures, with integral color mixed into the finish coat, so the finish fits your style and not just the standard look.

Why traditional stucco

Well-installed stucco can last for decades, holding up against harsh weather, fire, and pests. Its thermal mass helps regulate indoor temperature, and it needs little upkeep beyond occasional cleaning and inspection.

Our process

How we do traditional stucco

  1. Inspect & protect

We check the wall and what is behind it, then mask and protect windows, trim, and landscaping.

  2. Lath & scratch coat

Paper and wire lath, then a scratch coat scored so the next layer grips.

  3. Brown coat

The leveling layer that makes the wall flat and true, cured before the finish goes on.

  4. Finish & walkthrough

Your texture and color troweled on by hand, then a walkthrough and a clean site.
